Spring Has Sprung!

As I walk around these days I notice all the green shoots sprouting up out of the ground. The daffodils around my neighbors house are all blooming, bright yellows and pale whites. They are all so pretty. Even the trees are starting to get buds and some are blooming! However I've noticed something a bit strange...the trees/shrubs/bushes closer to the ground have green while the taller/older trees do not. Why is this? Why do the trees that have access to more sunlight not have green on them when the shaded ones do? This to me is intriguing and is something I'm going to be trying to find the answer to later on. (If someone knows what the answer is, please tell me).
Anyway I've been very camera happy lately. Granted my only camera is my phone that has a camera on it but still, I've been wanting to capture the newness of everything somehow. So I whipped out my phone and snapped some photos. I shall now share them with you:

This will become....

This! I believe these are Magnolias though I can't be sure. Sorry for my arm being in the shot, I had to pull the branch down to actually be able to get the shot.

All these not-so-little buds will open up to look like....

This! I think these are just more Magnolias but look at the pretty pink!!! I love flowers, can never get enough of them.

I have no idea what kind of bush/shrub/flower this is but they remind me of daisies. Daisies are one of my favorite flowers. Sunflower being the other.

And then a few other photos that I snapped. I was driving away from a Wal-Mart earlier when a Ford F150 nearly hit a couple Mallards and a Geese...goose?? What's the singular for 'geese'? I decided to test and see if I could actually get a shot of them...and I did!!! Well two seperate shots. It amazed me because I have no zoom lense, no flash, no nothing. Just a simple camera phone. And yet I managed to capture a walking Canadian Goose in a photo. And two Mallard ducks, that were occasionally waddling around, in another photo. And they came out pretty clearly...shocking!!!

This is the 'geek'. A few years ago my mom accidentally said 'geek' instead of 'geese' so now we refer to them as geeks. It's sort of an inside joke between the two of us.

And of course the two Mallard Ducks that I was talking about. I think they were trying to run away from the camera since the truck was already gone hehe.

So that's what I've seen in the past couple days. Atleast some of what I've seen. As I said there are also Daffodils in bloom everywhere but I don't want to trespass onto my neighbors property when I don't know them just to get a shot of a Daffodil. Not when I can get lovely shots like these without trespassing on anyones property! Enjoy!

  1. Pretty magnolia. If you get a minute, visit my blog and check out my "Jane" magnolia. Things are really starting to sprout in the flatlands...but now we might have snow this weekend. Ugghhh.
