So I've been kinda absent lately. Just make some changes in my life. Well, trying to. I'm trying to adopt healthier eating habits. I've been keeping track of what I eat trying to identify where I can put in water instead of coke or fruits instead of candy. Not really counting calories and I don't have a goal of weightloss (though that would be nice) but I just want to be healthier, kwim? (<---to steal my cousin's word).
I've also been enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having here in Indiana. I've been noticing all the pretty birds and even trying to identify them. Last year I got a beginner's field guide to birds and so far this year have been able to identify four: a robin (easy enough), a Carolina Chickadee (again kinda easy), a Song Sparrow, and a Nighthawk. Yes I said a Nighthawk. I saw one a few weeks ago when pulling up into my parking lot. He was just sitting on a lone branch in a tree watching everything that moved. I'm kicking myelf for not having my camera on me because I would so enjoy having a picture of him. I have snapped a few pictures of some squirrels though, I haven't gotten the film developed yet though. Yes, my camera still uses film...I don't have a digicam yet. Though it's on my goal list this year along with a bike.
Despite the lack of a digicam though, I do have a camera on my phone. I got my cats being cute and for some reason wanted to post a picture of my plant hanging in my room...I'm weird I know. So on with the goodies:

These are my three kitties. Sorry for the crappy lighting. It's hard enough getting them all in one picture, I wasn't about to demand great lighting. Anyway from the left to right they are: Isabelle (that's my mom's cat), Melodi (my baby), and Bubby (my other baby). As you can tell Melodi and Bubby don't always get along, she looks like she's about to pounce him right there. I think all she did was walk away though. The girls don't really get along either...they just sort of tolerate eachother. Isabelle and Bubby are collectively referred to as 'the pair'. They can't live without eachother. Literally. We tried seperating them once when I had my own place and Isabelle quit eating. So I let my mom keep hold of Bubby and I got Melodi, this is how we got three cats. And while my mom may think 3 is too many, I like having three and honestly sometimes wouldn't mind having more. Although I would then be concerned they wouldn't all get enough attention. Cats may be independent...well most, Melodi's not at all, very clingy for a cat...but they still like human contact and interaction. Just ask Isabelle who likes to sleep on my mom's lap every night IF IT'S HER IDEA. If you pick her up, she'll most likely jump down. Isabelle has to come to you on her own. Same with Bubby. Melodi however loves to be held. Especially by me. She was rescued from the local Humane Society days before they were going to... get rid of her if you get my drift. She was 3 when I got her and today is actually her birthday! She turns 9 today...egads. Isabelle's 8 (though she doesn't look it) and Bubby will be 9 in July.
