Dang It!!!

*sigh* This was supposed to turn out to be a decent day. Maybe not a terrific one but atleast an okay one.

I come into work this morning, work three hours and then leave around 1230 to run an errand. Something told me I shouldn't return this afternoon but I didn't listen to my gut and came anyway. I got back around 3. A few hours later my office manager, Dan, comes in. He was supposed to be scheduled off today. A little after he gets here he comes up to me. Apparently our district office has informed him that there are no more hours allotted to this office for CSC positions (that's my position). So for now, this is my last day!!!

If they need me again at the end of the season they'll call me. But I don't think I should hold my breath. I told him if some of the other offices needed to help to have them call me. We CSC's can do that. We can be floaters. I'm hoping the other offices call me and have me work at different ones like tomorrow and for the rest of the season. Apparently this office doesn't have enough business in nonpeak seasons to warrant having a receptionist around.

I argue that point. I've been here five hours today and managed to stay plenty busy. People coming in to sign things, picking up checks, I scheduled some appointments, there was filing to be done, etc. *sigh* I need this income dang it. This is the first year they have not kept me around all tax season and it's quite annoying.

Well, now it's back to the job hunt...again. In this economy I wonder how long it will take me to find a job...
